Corporate name TU Braunschweig Project Floodsite Date 2008-01-31 Abstract The objective of this Masters thesis report is to review and analyse the current published and unpublished knowledge on the methods to valuate the intangible losses associated with both environmental and social/health impacts of coastal and estuarial floods, including the techniques for Cost- Benefit-Analysis, Multi-Criteria-Analysis, and Life Quality Index approaches. Particular focus is placed on identifying holistic concepts, methods and techniques which are most appropriate to build a consistent and transparent framework for the rational estimation of intangible losses.
