(TU Delft Water Resources) Contributor van de Giesen, N.C. (promotor) van der Ent, R.J. (copromotor) Degree granting institution Delft University of Technology Date 2023-12-06 Abstract Improved understanding of historical precipitation extremes is important to better explain their behavior, predict future occurrences, and inform planning and engineering design. The intensity, seasonality, and timing of these extremes have far-reaching consequences, and require a comprehensive analysis of both historical trends and projected future changes. By integrating historical observations, statistical methods, and climate model projections, this research provides valuable insights into precipitation extremes on the global domain.
