Institution Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics Date 1975-03-01 Abstract A test facility developed at the von Karman Institute to simulate hot spots in gas cooled thermal reactors using fuel packed beds is described. A series of typical results is discussed which confirm the good tuning of the test set-up and proves the exitence of hot spots.
