This research paper is the research that will be comple- mentary to the mobility hub design made for Architectural Design Crossovers Graduation studio. The aim of this research is to find out which urban design interventions are needed to move the city of Lon- don out of the car and get them to walk, cycle and use public trans- port. First several concepts are discussed that form the theoretical framework. Then the research starts with positioning within literature about design handles for implementing cycle infrastructure. After, the future of mobility is discussed and several precedents where the car was removed in favour of pedestrians and cyclist are analysed. The findings are then bundled and implemented at the design site in Il- ford, London. The result is an urban proposal for the area, with a focus on slow traffic and the transfer to public transport, which the design of the graduation studio will build further on.

De Hanze was een Noord-Europees handels- en stedenverbond in het Heilige Roomse Rijk met een netwerk dat ver over de grenzen van meerdere landen reikten. Ze hadden een grote mate van onafhankelijkheid. Ze wisselden vanzelfsprekend veel cultuur uit in de gebieden waar ze actief waren, zo ook in architectuur. De Hanze hebben een eigen bouwstijl ontwikkeld, welke ook wel de Hanze- of baksteengotiek wordt genoemd. Deze stijl bevat kenmerkende elementen die in geen andere stijl te herkennen zijn. Deze scriptie onderzoekt de verschillen over de tijd en verschillende gebieden. Over tijd zijn deze verschillen niet gevonden, maar op basis van geografie wel; de westelijke Hanzesteden hadden soberdere architectuur, waar men in het oosten veel meer ornamenten kon vinden.
