This graduation project explores how interactive design can support museum visitors in engaging with colours. Inspired by Van Gogh’s practice of arranging coloured wool threads to test combinations, the project follows a research-through-design process, including contextual exploration, co-creation, prototyping, and user testing. The final outcome is “Select Colours Like Van Gogh,” an interactive installation combining a physical colour wheel with digital projections of Irises and Sunflowers and corresponding wool balls. The installation enables visitors to experiment with colour choices and reflect on their impact, fostering playful engagement and deeper understanding of Van Gogh’s creative process. The project contributes to design knowledge on tangible–digital museum experiences and offers practical insights for integrating interactive learning into art exhibitions.
