Abstract
The Great Barrier Reef is in danger of polution and the changing climate. In order to protect this UNESCO world heritage site we need to know more about it. Diving from the surface to the reef to conduct research is expensive and time consuming. This project is about the design of an underwater habitat capable of facilitating underwater research for aquanauts. The habitat is constructed of glass fibre reinforced components and combines the technical difficulties of constructing an underwater habitat with the dream like fantasy of what it's like to live and work underwater.
