Abstract

Cities are often remembered by their destinations, yet much of urban life unfolds in between. This project emerges from one of the last continuous pieces of land capable of holding Tallinn’s dispersed centres in relation. This project begins with the belief that the future of this land does not lie in the creation of another centre, but in the amplification of those that already exist. It envisions architecture as a civic prosthetic: an instrument that extends the reach of the city, strengthens relationships between territories, and reveals latent potentials already embedded within the urban fabric. Rather than introducing something new, it seeks to intensify what is present, transforming a fragmented corridor into a connective force capable of holding Tallinn in relation to itself, founded on the belief that the spaces between things are often more powerful than the things themselves if designed accordingly. Here, the gap becomes gold.
