This report describes the use of virtual environment technology for training of cosmonauts in the use of the European Robotic Arm (ERA). It also contains the description of a program suited to investigate the influence of several parameters on the depth perception in a typical virtual environment as it could be created in the Mission Preparation and Training Equipment (MPTE) project, currently under development at the NLR.
