Reid, J. (author)This is an experimental comparison of two axi-symmetric, isentropic plug nozzles. In one of these (Model No.1) the afterbody is cylindrical and a secondary flow is bled into the annular base. The other (Model No.2) has a parabolic afterbody with no base or bleed. In both cases the expansion is all-external and the design pressure ratio is 14.report 1965

Reid, J. (author)In an aerodynamic nozzle a convergent primary nozzle is housed within an afterbody which is surrounded by a shroud. Part of the external flow is captured thereby and compressed by the under-expanded primary jet. At the design point this system is not as efficient as a convergent-divergent nozzle but its off-design performance should be better....report 1962

Reid, J. (author)One possible method of reducing jet noise at take-off is the use of an ejector in which the propelling nozzle discharges into a shroud and thereby induces a secondary flow. The present report describes an experiment on systems of this type. The primary nozzle was axisymmetric and convergent and the shrouds were cylindrical with faired convergent...report 1962
