In the digital-based economy, digitalisation, entrepreneurial networks, and business strategy are three important interdependent components of entrepreneurship process. Accurate, reliable, and timely information is also vital to effective decision-making of the entrepreneurs. Often, owing to limitations in their resources and capabilities, entrepreneurs rely on their entrepreneurial networks to satisfy their information need. The core objective of this paper is to examine the use of information in business strategy development and assess the role of entrepreneurial networks as information sources. The theoretical lens used in this narrative literature review is media richness theory. The findings of this paper show that entrepreneurial networks significantly influence entrepreneurial success and survival, and that access to accurate and timely information enhances business strategy development.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to assess the relationship between elderly people's health literacy skills and those people's decision to make use of digital health service platforms. Despite the substantial influence of digitisation on the delivery of healthcare services, understanding how health intervention strategies might help empower elderly people's health literacy skills is critical. Design/methodology/approach: This paper analyses the existing trends in research on the convergence of health literacy, health intervention programmes and digital health service platforms by reviewing 34 studies published between 2000 and 2020. Findings: The findings of the review indicate three primary themes (health literacy skills, health management competency and attitude/confidence), which provide a summary of the current literature, and in all three the results show that health intervention programmes help to enhance health literacy skills of elderly people. Based on the review results and by organising the fragmented status quo of health intervention research, the authors develop a comprehensive research model and identify future research directions for research in this domain. Practical implications: The findings will be useful to health professionals in two ways: (1) the findings provide practical information about the growing need to implement health literacy intervention programmes to satisfy elderly people's appetite for accessing health services due to cognitive and physiological impairments, and (2) the finding help them to understand that with digital health platforms, elderly people have quicker access to health services, improving the quality of care provided to them. Originality/value: This paper presents a comprehensive research model for analysing the impact of health literacy skills on older people's ability and intention to access digital health information sources, considering various health intervention approaches.

Introduction. This paper investigates the effects of information avoidance, information overload, health literacy on individuals’ shared health decision making.Methods. A research model is proposed based on sound theoretical background. Data from 155 respondents was collected via an online survey. Analysis. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was applied to analyse the data. Results. The findings suggest that information overload and information avoidance both exhibit negative effects on an individual’s shared health decision making behaviour, while health literary possess positive effects. We also find that information avoidance has a positive impact on information avoidance. Moreover, health literacy is negatively related to both information overload and information avoidance.Conclusions. The paper enhances both theoretical and empirical understanding of the effects of individuals’ health literacy, information overload and information avoidance on their shared health decision making behaviour. The results indicate that sufficient health literacy enables individuals to engage in their health decision making process and sharing their concerns with their physicians. However, information overload and information avoidance trigger negative effects which lead to individuals less involved in shared health decision making. Our results advocate more efforts to improve individual health literary as the means to mitigate the negative effects of information overload and information avoidance towards shared health decision making.

When it comes to engaging with health information in their daily lives, people face different challenges. In the context of COVID-19, the aim of this study is to determine whether health information literacy can assist people in making informed health-related decisions. An empirical study was conducted to investigate such an effect. Building on a dataset composed of 155 respondents, the research model was examined through structural equation modelling. The results showed that health information literacy – as an individual ability – not only influences health decision making but also has a direct impact on the awareness of the challenges imposed by the current pandemic situation. In addition, the results show that too much information leads to information fatigue, and consequently negatively impacts decision making. The findings of this paper show that the concept of health information literacy should be understood and developed separately from the health literacy concept. Theoretical contributions and practical implications are discussed.@en

Female refugees and immigrants face various challenges in accessing, using, and sharing information during their integration process. In the context of COVID-19, this study aims to identify the user information satisfaction of female refugees and immigrants living in Finland and Sweden. Using a dataset comprising 232 respondents, the research model was examined through structural equation modelling. The results show that information overload in social media streams has an impact on information fatigue and consequently on the information avoidance behaviour of the target group. The results also show that information literacy helps to avoid social media information overload, in addition to its direct effect on user information satisfaction. Being familiar with the perceived COVID-19 challenges also positively impacts user information satisfaction. In view of the fact that European countries are receiving an ever-increasing number of refugees and immigrants, the findings of this study provide both theoretical and practical contributions.

The low level of health literacy skills often found in elderly people has been associated with a significant risk of poor access to health services and poor health status and makes it more likely that they will be prevented from obtaining and understanding the basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions. Therefore, empowering the older population with health literacy skills could enable them to benefit from the use of various digital health sources, such as telemedicine, webpages, or other digital platforms, to improve their health quality and enable them to live independently for longer. The purpose of this paper is to perform a systematic review to analyse and evaluate studies that explored the relationship between health literacy skills and the use of digital health platforms in the context of elderly people. To do so, four main databases - Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed -were searched based on the following inclusion criteria: (i) no geographical limitation, (ii) written in English, (iii) participants were aged ≥ 65 years, and (iv) studies were published between 2000 and 2020. By applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria for further analysis, the final dataset comprised 32 articles, which were analysed using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) model. The results show that four different intervention methods could be used to increase elderlies' health literacy skills in the case of using digital health services. Besides, before implementing any training sessions, barriers of learning shall be identified and tackled.@en
